Although Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría (SJO) is billed as San José's airport, it sits just outside the city of Alajuela in the near northwestern part of the valley. You can get taxis from the airport to any point in the Central Valley for $10–$120. Some hotels arrange pickup.
